Since this is the season of constrained bottlenecks/chokepoints (Panama and Bab el-Mandeb), the map aggregating commercial shipping density has been updated with a dataset covering a large sample of ship moves between 2015 and 2021. The shipping density and maritime routes remained similar through the years. The notable exception is that routes on the US West Coast have been modified to avoid the emission control area.
