Monthly Global Air Passenger Traffic 2010

Air travel is characterized by a seasonality where winter months (December, January, and February) are a period of lower activity and summer months (July and August) are a period of high activity. The summer high season corresponds to tourism activity in Europe and North America, which remain the most visited regions. In North America, peaks around Thanksgiving and Christmas are not well reflected in monthly global travel statistics. The same observation applies to China, where February is a peak traveling month because of Chinese New Year celebrations.
