Redesigned one of the most popular chapters in the Geography of Transport Systems that discusses the role of transportation and mobility in economic development.

Updated a chart depicting the evolution of global maritime container traffic. This evolution follows a cyclic approach of adoption, acceleration, peak growth and maturity. It remains to be seen how valid this perspective is.

The chapter covering port terminals has been revised in preparation for the publication of the Port Economics, Management and Policy textbook. It has been simplified and several figures have been transferred to various chapters in the port economics textbook.
